‘Nolah’s Original model and its premium Nolah Signature Mattress both use an all-foam construction. They’re both designed with AirFoam comfort layers that provide excellent pressure relief. The Nolah Original and Signature offer similar performance when it comes to motion isolation and noise, again thanks to their foam components. 

We recommend both models for lightweight and average weight sleepers.’

How does the Nolah feel?

I test for firmness first when going through the feel of a mattress. Firmness is one of the most important metrics in a mattress, but it is also quite subjective! To accurately test for this, I average the firmness scores of my colleagues with different body types, shapes, and sizes. The scale I use ranges between 1 (the softest) and 10 (the firmest) and 6.5 as the industry standard for medium firmness.’

Slumber Yard

‘The Nolah Original 10 is a great option for side and combo sleepers who are looking for a plush foam mattress. We aren’t thrilled about everything with this Nolah, but it’s the best bed for someone, we are certain of that. At the end of the day, it’s comfortable and comes with a trial period so that you can test it for yourself. Plus, we do actually really appreciate that with every purchase they give back to a wildlife animal of your choice

All in all, this is a very accommodating mattress that we think will be a good choice for people who sleep on their back, stomach, side, or a combination of the three.’

‘Nolah crafted its very own foam, called Nolah AirFoam™. Its innovation is that it retains less heat than other memory foam or common 'visco elastic' foams. It also has less pressure than even high end memory foam, meaning that it is easier on the hips and shoulders. Nolah's testers say it is also more durable and great for side sleepers. Mattress Clarity 

‘For me, I definitely thought it was firmer than Joe did, especially on my side. My weight pressed through the soft upper layer and felt the support and transition layers beneath (which are much firmer).

That being said, I felt some nice pressure relief on my shoulders and my hips and thought the firmness is more of a 7 or 7.5/10.

On my stomach, I felt my hips sinking in a good amount, so it wasn’t the best in that position. On my back, I did feel some nice support and thought it was pretty good in that position for someone my size.” 

Marten’s experience confirms what I would expect for a heavier sleeper, namely that he pressed through that soft upper layer and hit the firmer layers beneath. Someone Marten’s size may have trouble with pressure relief, especially on their side.’

What makes the mattress stand out? 

This is a very comfortable mattress, and if someone sleeps on their side and weighs under 200 lbs., they should get the pressure relief they need.  The AirFoam makes the Nolah mattress one of the most comfortable mattresses one can find. 

Though it is a foam mattress, people shouldn’t be sleeping hot at night. The air foam doesn’t trap heat like most memory foam, and even dissipates heat, and the cooling cover also stops people from getting too hot at night.

Considering the durable foam materials, I would have expected the Nolah Mattress to cost more, so it is really a value mattress with great, long-lasting, construction.’
