Do I need a box spring or foundation?

No, you do not need a box spring or foundation for the Nolah Signature 12" mattress.
 
Nolah is designed to work with any firm flat surface and can, though not recommended, be placed directly on the floor.
 
Below are the best options to support you Nolah mattress:
- The Nolah Adjustable Bases
- A solid platform
- A solid box spring/foundation
- A traditional soft box spring with Bunkie board on top
- A slatted base with slats no more than 4” apart
